1954 Martin “Tri-Car”, an urban delivery van designed for New York in cooperation with James V. Martin. He spent his life trying to cure traffic congestion and urban parking issues by designing compact, fuel-efficient commuter cars. Just goes to show- any more than 50 years ahead of your time and you’ll spend your life a failure, considered crazy by society. It’s like Bob Dylan versus the one-man-band: Play the guitar and the harmonica at the same time and everybody thinks you’re a musical genius, but add some knee cymbals and a kick drum and women will cross the street to avoid you.
